...so a friend of mine, Colcol was asking a few questions regarding the story I posted yesterday. She and I wondered the same things...like why come out now? Why wasn't there anything said before the priest died? In todays Chronicle Herald, the story is better explained and many of our questions were answered. Here's the link:

It's a shame that these women had to go through this. In the article it notes that the abuse started when one of the ladies was only 3 years old. No 3 year old should have to go through something like that. It's also a shame as the parents, i'm assuming, thought they were doing the right thing by having their children involved in the church. It's a huge mistrust...a breach of confidence....an illegal act....and to have community service as a sentence, that's a slap in the face.
